As part of our 200th anniversary celebrations in 2025, a team of Cheffins staff members will be taking on the Cambridge Half Marathon to raise vital funds for young people's mental health and wellbeing projects in the communities we operate in.
The team has set an ambitious fundraising target of £20,000, which will be distributed as grants to local charity and community projects through Cambridgeshire Community Foundation.
Our Cheffins Grassroots Endowed Fund, managed by the Foundation, has been supporting local causes for nearly two decades, making a significant impact across Cambridgeshire. This year's focus on young people's mental health and wellbeing reflects our commitment to investing in the future generation's health and happiness as we celebrate our heritage.
Bill King, Chairman, Cheffins says:
"As we mark this significant milestone in our company's history, we wanted to do something meaningful that would create a lasting impact in our community. Mental health support for young people has never been more crucial, and we're proud to be channelling our anniversary celebrations into such a vital cause."
Michael O’Toole, CEO at Cambridgeshire Community Foundation added:
“For nearly 20 years, Cheffins has been an incredible partner in supporting our community. Their decision to mark their 200th anniversary by investing in young people's mental health demonstrates their dedication to looking after future generations.”
Our team will join thousands of other runners on Sunday 9th March for the Cambridge Half Marathon. Every step they take and every pound raised will help local young minds thrive.
