A Full-Time Rural Surveyor/Consultant is required to join our expanding team in the Rural Department in our Cambridge office.

What will it take to be successful?

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in the rural sector. RICS, CAAV or BIAC qualifications would be beneficial for the role but not essential.   

It would be great if you have a good knowledge of the local area.

  • Experience within a rural surveyor/farm consultant role

What will you be doing?

Cheffins Rural team act for a wide variety of rural businesses and landowners across East Anglia providing advice on a range of rural professional matters including selling/letting land, grants and subsidies, compensation and compulsory purchase, valuations and farm consultancy. 

You will be involved in a range of rural professional work with a focus on capital grants, environmental schemes and compulsory purchase/compensation matters, with responsibility for managing your own clients and workload. 

Main purpose/scope of the role:

  • Focus on rural grant funding, environmental schemes, compulsory purchase/compensation and contract farming matters.
  • Managing own client files and workload in a client facing role
  • Attending client meetings (both on and off site), reporting to clients with recommended actions/fees, acting upon and managing instructions, liaising with clients professional advisers where required.
  • Working alongside other members of the Cambridge & Ely Rural team.
  • Attending rural networking events and providing input into business development as part of the rural team.
