We are looking for a Rural Surveyor/Adviser to join our busy Cambridge team on a Part or Full-Time basis to help us expand the services we provide to our clients, with an emphasis on Farm Environment Schemes, Rural Grant Funding and emerging business opportunities.  

Cheffins’ Rural Team provide a wide range of advice to individual farmers, landowners and rural businesses which includes Land & Farm Agency, Environmental Schemes, Renewable Energy, Utilities/Infrastructure, Farm Consultancy Advice and Rural Professional Advice.

What will you be doing?

You will be involved in a range of rural advisory work with a focus on capital grants and environmental schemes, with responsibility for managing your own clients as well as team-based projects. 

  • Attending client meetings (both on and off site), reporting to clients with recommended actions/fees, acting upon and managing instructions.
  • You would be an integral member of the rural department. Click here to read about the team. 
  • Attending rural networking events and providing input into business development for the rural division.

What will it take to be successful?

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in the rural sector. RICS, CAAV or BIAC qualifications would be beneficial for the role but not essential.

  • Forward thinking individual with an interest in emerging business opportunities in the rural and farming sector
  • Good knowledge of the local area preferable.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear advice and establish strong interpersonal relationships with team members, clients and other professionals. 
  • Ability to meet demands and deadlines and work well within a busy environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to delivering a high standard of service.
  • Full Driving License essential and use of own car, which is insured for business use.
