A Full-Time Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor is required to join our existing team of four surveyors in the Rural Department in our Ely office working alongside our existing team of 26.

What will it take to be successful?

Ideally, the successful candidate should have at least 2 years post qualification experience and should be CAAV qualified or working towards their CAAV qualification.

It would be great if you have a good knowledge of the local area and property market.

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of professional work including the sale and purchase of rural property, the valuation of a wide range of rural property types, letting and management of agricultural land including Contract Farming Agreements and compulsory purchase and compensation matters.

What will you be doing?

Providing advice and support to a wide range of farmers,  landowners and rural businesses.

Main purpose/scope of the role:

  • Dealing with rural professional work, valuations, rural agency (sales and lettings), infrastructure/energy and rural diversification schemes.
  • Attending client meetings (both on and off site), reporting to clients with recommended actions/fees, acting upon and managing instructions, liaising with clients professional advisers (lawyers and accountants) where required, negotiating sales/lettings and preparing heads of terms.
  • Working with other team members on Planning & Development advice, Rural Grants/Subsidies
  • Providing input into business development/publications/events as part of the rural team.
