Chris joined Cheffins in 1993, starting as a saleroom porter having had an interest in antiques as a schoolboy. Within a few years he progressed to Saleroom Manager and General Valuer and in the early 2000s he took on the role of catalogue photographer and designer which is his main role to this day. Chris has overseen various single-owner collections including the recent sale of The Eve Clarke Collection.

In addition to his role as photographer/designer, Chris is also our carpets and rugs specialist. He also assists in cataloguing furniture and interior design objects for our Fine Sales.

Outside of his role within the department, Chris is an avid collector of rugs, furniture and unusual items of interior decoration, as well as a self-taught restorer. His other passion is motor cars, and he combines his love of cars and art by occasionally painting detailed portraits of cars for their owners.
