The Cheffins auction team were on the road again to West Row, Suffolk, and it was another fruitful trip as an imposing line-up of classic commercial vehicles, trailers and classic tractors came under the hammer as part of the Cooper Collection.
A good crowd assembled at the ring of the bell and there were fierce competition from those who were logged on and registered via our online bidding facility.
The top lot on the day – and one of the most surprising results in this classic commercial section – was a 1977 Scania Super 143 with a thumping V8 which caught many an eye on the field and online. After spirited bidding, it sold for an incredible £84,800.
Other notable lots in the section included a well-presented 1948 Fordson 7V tipper which made £9,752, a 1936 Foden DG4 and 1949 ERF 56TS Chinese 6 which made £15,900 apiece and a striking 2001 Volvo NH12 which sold for £33,920.
Among the top lots from an impressive line-up of tractors were a well-restored 1981 Roadless 980 at £32,860; a 1986 Ford FW-60 hit £29,680; a 1980 Roadless Ploughmaster 78 took £29,150; and a 1974 County 1004 knocked down at £26,500.
The excellent trade continued with a 1977 County 1174 making £24,910, an original looking 1987 Ford TW-35 took £26,500 and a smart 1982 Ford TW-30 took £24,592.
