The auction team was on home turf for the final on site sale of 2019 for PJ Lee & Sons Ltd at Lee’s Packhouse, Sutton Gault in North Fen. The auction of well-maintained field preparation and handling equipment attracted an excellent turnout from both locals and those further afield. By the time the bell rang to signal the start of the sale, a good crowd had assembled and there was a high number of bidders registered online. The top lot of the sale was a 2017 JCB 8330 Fastrac which caught the eye of a number of bidders on site and online and resulted in some very competitive bidding, it went on to sell for £80,000. Other notable lots from an impressive line up of very well-maintained kit included a 2017 Standen Uni-Plus trailed soil separator which sold for £25,500; two Baselier HFD6FKV550 mounted hydraulic folding hook tine cultivators which made £24,500 and £20,000 respectively and a 2015 Standen Powavator which fetched £18,500. Director Oliver Godfrey said: “This was an excellent sale and very well attended by local producers as well as purchasers further afield with a number of the high value items being sold to the continent. After a challenging potato harvest the general mood was very upbeat and translated into strong prices paid for well-maintained kit from the PJ Lee & Sons operation and the extensive range of included lots.”
