Willem van de Vliet had a relatively small output and his works rarely come available at auction. It depicts a young lady and is signed and inscribed 'Aetatis 21 ao 1632/ W. vander Vliet. Ely from the River, by Edward Seago RWS, RBA (British 1910-1974)
A painting of Ely from the River by Edward Seago RWS, RBA (British 1910-1974), is bound to draw a great deal of attention. Seago was one of the most popular English landscape painters of the 20th century, and is local to Cheffins, having been born and lived in Norfolk throughout his life. The majority of Seago’s works depict landscapes throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Europe, and there are only a few known paintings of Ely which he created. This one has been consigned from a local private collection, having been bought in Australia in 2014.
Estimate £7,000 - £10,000.
