The proceeds of the sale at auction of an iconic Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle will go direct to charity. The bike will feature in Cheffins July Vintage on-line sale which takes place from Thursday 16th July until Tuesday 21st July.
The Harley FLHS 1340, has been entered into the auction by Bill Brown and, thanks to his incredible generosity and benevolence, the proceeds of this sale will be distributed among the NHS and other charities. The bike, which has 22, 530 miles on the clock, is in excellent running order with a good service history.
Director and Auctioneer, Jerry Curzon says: “We are absolutely thrilled to have this Electra Glide included in our auction in July. The bike itself is such an iconic machine and is likely to attract the attention of buyers both at home and abroad who will benefit from Cheffins waiving the normal buyer’s fees.
It will be an absolute pleasure selling this lot in the full knowledge that the proceeds of the sale will be going to support charities in their time of need. It is testament to the philanthropy of the current owner that we are able to promote both the bike for sale and the fact that the monies will go to some very deserving causes.”
The current owner, Mr Bill Brown adds: “Unchartered times call for unique responses and I am in the fortunate position of having owned this motorcycle for a while and I have had a huge amount of enjoyment from this beautiful machine. I take great pleasure in knowing that the proceeds of the sale will go some way to supporting some very commendable charities during a time of real crisis.”
The vendor has kindly agreed to collect the machine post sale from Cheffins and prepare it for delivery anywhere in the world. The motorbike is presented in the original factory blue and cream colour scheme with some age-related marks. As with most HDs, there are many extras fitted including a Vance & Hines exhaust system. With the factory fit panniers this is an iconic and classic touring machine that is supplied with V5 documentation, expired MOT (August 2019 re-test not possible due to Covid 19) and service history.
