The April sale sees over 100 watches go under the hammer at Cheffins, our highest value watch consignment to date.

Most astoundingly, the majority of the watches on offer are completely fresh-to-the-market. Consigned from private collections up and down the country, we’ve got examples from the most popular of makers on offer, including Rolex, Cartier, Omega, Franck Muller, Vacheron and Constantin and Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Lot 322 - Rolex - An 18ct gold 'Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner' wristwatch, estimate £10,000 - £15,000 - available at the Jewellery, Silver and Watches Sale on 7th April.

The headline lot is an 18ct gold Rolex Submariner. With the gold bracelet and blue dial, complete with original box and documentation, this 2008 example has hardly ever been worn and really is the Holy Grail of second-hand watches. It is estimated to sell for between £10,000 and £15,000, as the market for second-hand watches has continued to gather pace following worldwide lack of availability of new versions, coupled with reported lengthy wait times from Rolex.

Another modern but very collectable watch on offer is a Jaeger-LeCoultre 18ct gold ‘Master Control Geographic’ watch. This is another which comes with its original case and documentation and is completely fresh-to-market. It has an estimate of £6,000 - £8,000.

Lot 298 - Jaeger-LeCoultre - An 18ct gold 'Master Control Geographic' wristwatch, estimate £6,000 - £8,000 - available at the Jewellery, Silver and Watches Sale on 7th April.

From the same era is a Franck Muller 18ct gold ‘Master Banker Havana’ watch, which comes with its unique cigar shaped case as well as the paperwork. It has an estimate of £3,000 - £5,000.

Also available are two of the legendary Jaeger-LeCoultre ‘Reverso’ watches. The perennially popular Reverso with their unique flip-over case comes with a legend which is firmly a part of watch lore; it was created in the early 1930s and solely designed to be robust enough to withstand the shocks of polo matches played by the British army in India. These iconic watches are now making strong prices on the second-hand market; we are offering a 2008 ‘Reverso Gran Sport’ on a 18ct gold bracelet with an estimate of £4,000 - £6,000 and a 2009 ‘Reverso Sun and Moon’ again in 18ct gold but on a strap, with an estimate of £3,000 - £5,000.

Lot 292 - Franck Muller - An 18ct gold 'Master Banker Havana' wristwatch, estimate £3,000 - £5,000 - available at the Jewellery, Silver and Watches Sale on 7th April.

For those more interested in older watches, also on offer will be a large selection of important and historic pocket watches, with examples from George Graham and Sir John Bennett together with some more unusual examples including quarter and minute repeaters.
