The Cheffins' planning team recently held an away day at Oliver Cromwell’s House in Ely to assess and review settlements in the district in light of East Cambridgeshire District Council’s (ECDC) imminent ‘Call for Sites’, due in 2025.
In a recent Cabinet meeting, ECDC announced that they would be looking to start a new Local Plan in 2025 (exact date TBC). The first stage is a Call for Sites, with the council requesting submissions of available sites for future development.
In the Cheffins’ planning team’s initial workshop session, the team helped identify potential opportunities, reviewing over 100 prospective sites and whittling them down to around 50 sites that are worthy of being promoted into the Call for Site process when it commences.
Adam Tuck, Director of planning at Cheffins, comments: “We had a very productive team meeting which delivered many potential sites. We are now discussing these opportunities with our clients. We have previously been hugely successful with strategic promotions and applications of development on all scales, assisting with the recognised need for housing whilst being sensitive to surroundings and environmental issues. We look forward to working with ECDC and contributing to the evolvement of the Local Plan.”
