Description

Richard Nixon, U.S President, 1969-74: satirical colour poster by the celebrated 1960s poster artist Bob Dara, "Dubious Achievement Award: Easy Rider", 20.75 x 29 inches (52 x 72 cm). c. 1969-70. The film "Easy Rider" was released in 1969 and the "Easy Rider" of the poster title is probably a reference to it. The Library of Congress, Washington has a copy of the poster. with: 8 (b) Double page colour promotional poster for Jean Renoir's film "The Woman on the Beach" (1947), with striking image of its star Joan Bennett and other images of Robert Ryan and Charles Bickford. c. 17 x 11 inches 43 x 28 cm). Extracted from the magazine "To-Day's Cinema", March 16, 1948. with:(c) Part of original 1960s box for the Philips "Hoodhairdrier", with classic Art Nouveau-influenced wavy hair design in blue and green, so typical of the 1960s and used in many contexts including vinyl rock album covers and dust jackets for books.
