the abdomen set with an oval faceted red stone, assessed as rubellite (untested, due to limitations imposed by the mount), approximately 8.5 x 6.7mm, thorax set with graduating rose cut diamonds, wings set with graduating rubies and graduating rose cut diamonds, cabochon rubies for the eyes and diamond set antennae, estimated approximate total diamond weight 2.80ct, wing span 9.7cm, pin and revolver fitting, French poinçon mark for 18ct gold, silver settings, weight 28.7g, cased



Overlal condition: Good
All stones present
Minor abrasion and chipping to centre stone and rubies, consistent with age - visible with a 10x loupe
Chipping to diamonds, consistent with age
General wear and heavy scratching to reverse
Pin is slightly misshapen but opens and closes positively
